Midwest Region Scholarships

These scholarships are a cash prize offered to a dancer chosen from each category - Primary, Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, and Premier. Scholarship recipients are selected via random draw from teacher nominations from Midwest registered dancers of the current year. The Midwest regional teachers hope this cash award will further your dancing endeavors, whether for new ghillies, highland dance lessons, use towards a new costume, or whatever your highland dancing needs are at this time.

The 2023 scholarship recipients will be drawn on May 2, 2023, and announced at the Alma Highland Games Competition on May 28, 2023. All teacher nominations need to be received via the Scholarship Nomination for by May 1st at 11:59PM EST.

National Scholarships

There are two academic scholarships ScotDance USA awards annually to eligible current-year registered dancers.

The Farrar Scholarship is awarded to a dancer who is preparing for his/her first year of education beyond high school.

The Whittlesey Scholarship is awarded to a dancer who is in college, graduate school or other educational program.

On February 1st each year, the academic scholarship applications go live on the SDUSA website (scotdanceusa.com). All applications must be submitted electronically and received no later than April 1. Recipients will be notified no later than May 15.
