Announcing the 2026 Tartan Trail

We are pleased to announce the start of the 2026 Tartan Trail Competition League, sponsored by the Twin Cities Scottish Dance Association and the Wisconsin Highland Dance Association.  

Dancers who attend five out of six participating competitions in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois will receive a Tartan Trail finisher t-shirt, completion certificate, and keepsake charm for their dickie, blouse or vest. When dancers get their stamp at each attended competition, they will also receive a treat as well!

Dancers who have attended at least TWO competitions by June 6^th (Frozen Fling/Capital City/Milwaukee) will be entered into a free draw at the Milwaukee Highland Games for:

• restaurant gift cards

• free dance entry into the MN Highland Games competition 2026

• free dance entry into the Capital City Fall competition 2026 

Dancers who have COMPLETED the 2026 Trail will be entered into a free draw at the Capital City Fall competition for:

• SIX MONTHS access to Highland Dancing on Demand donated by David Wilton! (a $180 value!)

• restaurant gift cards

• FOUR dance entries for 2027: Frosted Fling/Capital City Spring/MN Highland Games/Capital City Fall (a $160 value!)

The competitions for 2026 are:

February 14: Frozen Fling in St Paul, MN

April 18: Capital City Spring in Madison, WI

June 6: Milwaukee Highland Games in Franklin, WI 

June 13: Chicago Highland Games in Itasca, IL

July 18: MN Highland Games in St Paul, MN

October 10: Capital City Fall in Madison, WI

Same as last year, there is absolutely no cost to enter and open to any registered dancer! All you need to do is sign up for the League, mark your calendars, and register for the competitions you wish to attend - it's that simple!
